Vistal Golf Results from July 8th & A Look Ahead

No Pictures of the golfers this week, it was a rough outing once again! The victory this week goes to two people, Charlie and Chris with a 92, the win however does come on a technicality. Mike brought out his ringer Uncle Roy who shot the lowest score of 91 but due to this being his first WSPGA event he is not eligible for the win. Carlo came in third with a 95, keeping up his streak of consecutive top 3 finishes at 9. Chris also passed Dylan with his back to back wins in the overall standings and is currently sitting in 2nd with 60 points behind only Carlo who has 62 total points.

Next up is the 1st ever skins tournament at Peoria Pines Golf Course, we will draw teams on sunday at the location. Skins will awarded on a hole by hole basis. The amount will be .25 per hole and two holes worth .50 so the 18 hole total will be $5 to both players on the winning team if they won all 18 holes. It is in a best ball format so both players will shoot and pick the best shot to continue the hole and so on. After careful consideration to make this event even more interesting we will be awarding points to the overall leader board following this event. This should make for some competitive golf.

The inspiration for the Westside PGA Charity Classic
July 22, 2012 brings in the first of our charitable contributions to the community as we present the Jesse Mireles Charity Classic at Palo Verde Golf Course. This is the event for those in the community who have fallen on rough times with the job market at it's low point and the economy not recovering for those on tour. Players are asked to donate a small portion towards the green fees of Jesse so he may get out on the tour and compete with the greats once again. The commish will cover any remaining fees not paid for by the tour members. This is our chance to give back and remember every little bit helps!

The next Major event for the tour is the Westside PGA Open on July 29th at Papago, points are doubled for this event so it can make or break the leader boards top contenders as we wind down the final month of the inaugural season for the Westside PGA.The schedule has been restructured for the final time. The last event is on Sunday August 26th and it will be the Westside PGA Players championship. This will also be the time where the overall points champion will be crowned! Football season starts in September so the tour will give up it's sundays for the #1 sport. We may have intermittent events to keep our players on the top of their games but the Tour will kick off again in the Summer of '13.
